Sessions

One regular and obligatory element of the AAL curriculum is students' participation in special sessions and workshops, called Schools. Each School lasts about two weeks and takes up 64 working hours of intensive topic-oriented courses. The universities grouped in the Academy take turns at organizing these schools. The winter session is the session that starts the first year of studies. After each session, which is assigned 30 points, students have to write an essay on a specified topic. This essay is the second required yearly paper. The third paper of the year is one written under the supervision of that of the student's two tutors who is from a university other than the student's home school. The same tutor marks the paper and gives credits for it.
