Warsaw, February 7, 2012

Dear Master’s Graduate,

The »Artes Liberales« Academy is opening enrollment for the fourth edition of the Inter-University Program of Interdisciplinary PhD Studies (MPISD AAL). This program is a new form of education within the »Artes Liberales« Academy (AAL third level). The Inter-University Program of Interdisciplinary PhD Studies was established in 2008 and is implemented with the support of the Conference of Polish University Rectors (Resolution No. 205 of December 7, 2007 and Resolution No. 248 of March 19, 2010). The result of studying in this form of education should be an interdisciplinary doctoral dissertation and its defense at one of the universities forming the »Artes Liberales« Academy. The Academy ensures PhD students participation in interdisciplinary research as well as opportunities to teach their own original classes. We expect our PhD students to contribute actively to the development of this new form of studies.

The call for applications for the fourth edition of the MPISD is addressed to graduates of interdisciplinary studies:

  • a) graduates of the »Artes Liberales« Academy (AAL),
  • b) graduates of the Interdepartmental Individual Studies in the Humanities (MISH),
    and also
  • c) graduates who have obtained two master’s degrees in regular university courses.

Admission to the Program is open to those of the aforementioned graduates who are already in their first year of PhD studies at one of the universities confederated in* the AAL or affiliated with** the Academy, or who intend to begin such studies in 2012. Enrollment will take place in May and June 2012. We have three places available. The »Artes Liberales« Academy guarantees PhD students an academic grant whose total net amount (including the grant from the student’s home university) will be PLN 1,750.

Application forms for the MPISD AAL MPISD AAL application forms (please select the appropriate form) should be sent to the Academy Office (aal@aal.edu.pl) by May 15, 2012. Interviews with applicants will be held in June 2012. Detailed information on the enrollment procedure and the rules of taking part in the Program is provided in the MPISD AAL Rules and Regulations and the MPISD AAL guide for 2012.

We look forward to seeing you!
